Local Farmer is a virtual Real Food Market with more than 3.5 thousand products available on the platform every day (vegetables, fruits, meat, dairy products, preserves, fish, eggs, bread, ready meals). The company works with trusted farmers and smallholders, delivering healthy shopping throughout the country. Within the organization there is also a mobile application called Vegetable War, which sells packages with visually imperfect vegetables, fruits and other products that for some reason do not meet store standards or their expiration date is approaching. Farmer Direct Sp. z o.o. is the largest eCommerce of its kind in Poland.
The Local Farmer faced a number of challenges that required a comprehensive approach to operational modernization. The key issue was the need to reduce the cost of maintaining and developing the proprietary eCommerce platform, while accelerating the work of the eCommerce and marketing team. The company was looking for a simple, intuitive low-code tool that would enable efficient process management, as well as the transformation of a traditional offline loyalty program into a digital form.
In addition, an important aspect was the integration of new, local forms of delivery, including through the implementation of courier services transporting products at controlled temperatures. Technological challenges also included the implementation of ERP system and document flow, which was supposed to improve daily operations.
The key task was to integrate the eCommerce platform (Shopify) with the Subiekt GT sales system, allowing you to automate processes — from picking up orders and generating sales documents, to streamlining the process of creating orders for suppliers and managing product statuses, both physical and virtual.
Project implemented in cooperation with Beautomate
The implemented solutions at Lokalny Farnik were based on a comprehensive operational analysis and business audit, which allowed the creation of a new development strategy. First of all, we modernized the e-commerce platform by migrating from proprietary solution to Shopify, which enabled faster and more efficient sales management. A key element of the integration was the connection of Shopify with the Subiekt sales system using the BPA Platform tool, which automated the collection of orders and the generation of sales documents.
In order to streamline logistics, we have implemented API4SHIP, which automates the generation of courier labels, while allowing you to create your own designs. Integration with local couriers such as Speedeo and Goodspeed made it possible to ensure the transport of products at a controlled temperature. In the field of document circulation, we applied the EBI24 system, introducing OCR functionalities and automation of accounting of cost documents.
In addition, we have developed and implemented the advanced loyalty program UpPromote Affiliate Marketing, which has been integrated with the Shopify platform, and expanded the analytical reporting capabilities with Preset.io.
The project also included support and supervision over the implementation of ERP system, warehouse processes and local server infrastructure. The training and development of the team (marketing, merchants, IT) and the recruitment of a board member (c-level) also played a key role, which allowed for the effective implementation of the strategy and further development of the company.
